Surf Sister has been around since 1999 and started because of this vision: "To encourage more women to try surfing and to have them feel less intimidated and included out in the water." They started with a truck and a few boards and the rest is history. Surf Sister is now the biggest all female instructor surf schools in the world.

They've even gone so far as to start their own surfing competition, exclusively for women, called 'Queen of the Peak'. The first competition was in 2010 and it celebrates the most talented and awesome female surfers on the West Coast. They also have a surf shop that features delicious coffee if any non-surfers feel like sticking back on the beach.

They are open all year round, no matter how chilly the water gets! The only time they cancel lessons is if there are extreme weather conditions so even if it's the middle of winter and you get the itch to surf, give the Surf Sisters a call!

Surf Sisters chose the surfing location the day of but usually they surf out of Cox Bay, South Chesterman or North Chesterman. And don't worry - you don't have to be female to surf with Surf Sisters, as long as you're older than six, they'll be happy to teach you.
