Healthy Hydrating (December): Tropical Acai Smoothie Bowl Recipe

In a bit of a breakfast rut because you find yourself dedicating more time in the morning to shovelling the walk and de-frosting the windshield of your car? Mixing it up with a smoothie bowl is a fun way to re-vitalize your breakfast inspiration while remaining an efficient and simple way to enjoy delicious and nutritious food. This month's 'Healthy Hydrating' feature is a Tropical Acai Smoothie Bowl recipe that will keep you reaching for the blender rather than the cereal box.

What you'll need:

- 1/2 cup of Blueberries

- 1/2 cup of Frozen Açaí berries

- 1 cup of Strawberries

- 1 Banana

- 1/2 cup of Coconut chips

- 1/2 cup of Granola (or chia seed)

- 1 Teaspoon of Honey

- 1 cup of Vanilla Yogurt

The steps:

1. Blend half of banana, vanilla yogurt, Açaí berries and honey until smooth.

2. Pour into bowl and place granola, cut up remaining fruit and coconut chips on top.

Açaí bowls are popping up all over the place but instead of spending an upwards of $12 buying one, why not make your own? Acai Berries are also known to be a great source of antioxidants which are a great way to cleanse your body and boost your immune system during cold season.
