Healthy Hydrating (August): Matcha Smoothie Bowl

Feel as if you're dragging yourself out of bed during the final weeks of summer, dreading the 'back to the grind' attitude that everyone else has adopted around you? If you find yourself reaching for a cup of coffee every morning when you need an energy boost, why not opt for something a little less acidic and with a lot more anti-oxidants?

Matcha green tea is the perfect answer for you! Not only is it a totally natural source of caffeine but it's also brimming with delicious taste and antioxidants. First time Matcha users can get a little intimidated by its powder form but the easiest way to introduce Matcha into your morning routine is to sneak it into a smoothie by blending it with the usual ingredients. Remember when we showed you a 'green and fruity smoothie' recipe last month, you can follow those steps and just add the Matcha powder into the mix! It's really that easy.

Just to mix things up a bit, we thought we'd share a 'smoothie bowl' recipe for you to mix up the way you enjoy your smoothie. The amazing thing about drinking Matcha green tea is that it has 137 times more antioxidants as normal green tea. Furthermore, ingesting Matcha powder is like giving your body a gift because antioxidants fight cancer-causing free radicals in the body.
