Athletic Taping

What is Athletic Taping?

Athletic taping is a form of treatment we use by placing specific athletic tape directly to the patient’s skin. When used properly, athletic taping can help to stabilize injured structures, reduce load, facilitate movement and muscle activation, and support appropriate postures. Learn More.

How do I know if I need Athletic Taping?

There are many different treatment options that our physiotherapists will work through with our patients. We will continue to test and combine, until we find the one that’s right for you. Often athletic taping is used in conjunction with other treatment options. Here are some of the injuries that we find athletic taping helps: Patellafemoral Pain Syndrome (Runner’s Knee) or Chondromalacia Patellae, Plantar Fasciitis, Ankle Sprain, Scapular Dyskinesia (i.e. Impaired Shoulder Blade Position/Control), Mid and Low Back Postural Pain.
