Jayme Gordon’s 2019 in Review

December 3, 2019

This year flew by once again, especially as I kept myself busy with a lot of little trips. I took a few trips back to Vancouver Island to visit family in Campbell River, fishing on the ocean, and spending time up at my cabin. I also had a few weddings to attend which all required travel. I was in my best friend's wedding party in Campbell River, went to Victoria for a physio friend's wedding, and made the trip to Osoyoos to celebrate our old co-worker Brendan’s wedding! I was also fortunate enough to travel to Peru to visit Machu Picchu with my partner. We did the 4-day Inca Trail hike ending at Machu Picchu, and then spent the rest of our trip doing day excursions and a lot more hiking.

Professionally, I worked with the Burnaby Lake Rugby Club Premier Women's team last year, and as always they kept me busy on and off the field. This season has just started up again and I will be the head therapist with their team. 2018 was a pretty heavy year of taking courses for me so I took some time off in 2019. However, I did recently take a course in training foundational movements using kettlebells which I have been very excited to incorporate into my clinical practice!

It has also been another fantastic year with the Royal City Physio crew! I feel so fortunate to work with an amazing group of individuals that make coming to work fun. Not only does this apply to my co-workers, but also our patients. The most rewarding part of my job is helping people achieve their goals and return to their full function. It's always fun working with motivated individuals and getting to see the results, so thank you to all of my patients for another year of hard work!

Next year will be another busy one. Currently I have plans for doing another Dry Needling course, traveling to Europe, and attending a few more weddings! I cannot wait to see what else 2020 has in store.
