Brendan Paterson’s 2018 in Review

December 19, 2018

It’s hard to believe that 2018 is already coming to a close —and what a wonderful year it was!

Looking back on the year, there are many highlights for me both professionally and personally.  One such highlight was attending Carol Kennedy’s Cervical Spine course with Karen and Jayme where we learned new and improved methods of assessing and treating various neck conditions.  The skills and techniques learned at the course have already shown to be helpful to many clients!

In-services put on by our very own Karen Nichol and Jayme Gordon stand out as great learning opportunities for me this year, in which our talented therapists shared new knowledge that they gleaned from their experiences and courses they attended this year.

Another exciting highlight has been the additions of both Riley Bay and Stephen Baker to the Royal City Physio team.  These two bring plenty of passion and energy to the profession and it has been a pleasure getting to know and work with them!

On a more personal note, my biggest highlight of the year has been my engagement to my beautiful fiancée, Kelsey!  In true physio fashion, I asked her to marry me during a hike — I always have to integrate some exercise!  As 2018 comes to a close so will my time at Royal City Physio; as Kelsey and I will be moving to Nelson, BC to be closer to family, to enjoy the small-town way of life, and for the endless outdoor opportunities.

Although it is an exciting time, it is going to be tough leaving Royal City Physio and all the great people who walk through the door.  I will miss the supportive team environment at Royal City Physio as well as the opportunity to work alongside and learn from such a knowledgeable and talented group of physios!  I will miss the wonderful reception staff who keep the clinic running smoothly, and who give it right back to me when I give them a hard time (they might not miss me so much!).  I would like to thank all of my clients for your hard work, your positive attitudes, and for trusting me through your rehab process!  It has been a pleasure getting to know so many of you, seeing your progress, and seeing your resilience.  I wish you all the best in your continued growth and feel at ease knowing you are in great hands moving forward here at Royal City Physio

Until next time,

Brendan
