Healthy Hydrating (April 2.0) - Banana Peanut Butter Breakfast Smoothie

April 27, 2016

What's a better pick me up in the morning than a extra kick of potassium and protein? The best part is that it only takes mere minutes to make and is delicious to slurp down. It's the perfect way to start your morning, especially if you're not a huge breakfast person. It's important to get your body fuelled so that you can take on your day with energy and a full stomach. Plus, it's a great portable meal too, throw it in a water bottle and you're ready to take on whatever the morning has in store for you.

What you'll need:

2  Bananas

2 - 3 tbs of peanut butter

3 - 4 tbs of yogurt of your choice

A blender

The Steps:

1. Peel both bananas and put into blender.

2. Measure out peanut butter to taste and put into blender.

3. Add yogurt of choice, although the thicker the better. (I've used coconut greek yogurt in the past for this recipe and it's proved to be pretty delectable.)

4. Blend it all up until all part are mixed and your drink is nice and smooth!

5. Enjoy!

One of the great things about this recipe is that you can use up the bananas in your basket that looks a little worse for wear, making sure they get used up rather than thrown into the compost. You can also have fun with adding extra things to your smoothie like granola, Vega protein powder, white chocolate chips and much more depending on what you're craving that particular morning. Not only does it taste delicious but this recipe is a timesaver, perfect for those mornings where you sleep through your alarm but still don't want to spend the money picking up breakfast on the way to work. This smoothie takes about two minutes to make, is chock full of potassium and protein, and is so tasty that you'll find yourself dreaming about it before you even wake up to make it!

Whether or not you're a morning person, this delicious breakfast smoothie is sure to keep you moving throughout the rest of your busy day! Share your versions on Instagram, Twitter or Facebook and tag it with #keepmoving or @RCPhysio so we can see your delicious creations!
